Artist Testimonials
"If I could give them 10 stars, I would. Jay went WAY out of his way to make sure my song sounded exactly how I wanted it to. He was very upfront about all costs, he KNOWS HIS STUFF when it comes to microphone setups, composing and arranging, mixing and producing, and what few things he isn't an expert in he is open about and will point you in the direction of anyone he knows about. It helps that he is a recording artist himself. I am an independent artist, and he's already given me several helpful hints about the back end of production/promotion. I actually contacted several of the highest rated, best known studios in the southeast before landing in Greenville. I talked with several people who were going to charge me a lot more (like, twice as much, or more) and who would not have put the personal effort into ensuring my song sounded like I needed it to. I ended up driving 5 hours to record here, and I live in a big city that has recording studios around. It was very much worth it, and I will absolutely do it again."

"I had the pleasure of working with Jay at Greenbriar in 2018 on a project. Greenbriar was so much more than just a place to record my songs. Jay played an integral part in forming the songs and album into what it is. He produced the album; he gave musical suggestions and played multiple instruments on the songs. He was so easy to work with. He got the vision and sound that I desired for the album and made it come to life. When you choose Greenbriar, you are choosing more than just a place to record music. You are choosing someone with the passion and ability to make your music the best it can be. I can’t wait to work with Jay again."

"From the initial contact to the final product delivered, Jay exceeded every expectation I had about studio time. My experience with Greenbriar left me wanting to write more music just to be in that atmosphere again. Jay has an exceptional ear, an amazing attention to detail, and made us feel so at home when we were there. No matter if you’re looking for mixing, tracking, or to knock out an entire project, Greenbriar Studio is the place to be."

"Jay is a consummate professional whose skill and insight enriches the recording experience. In the producer role he cared for the song like it was his own, but his primary concern was helping us realize the vision we had for the song. We've also had Jay mix on projects for us. We particularly love the dynamic and energy his mixes have. We've always found him to be patient with us as we dial in a mix. His attention to detail along with his ability to add texture and sonic scape helped the songs come to life in ways we could only have imagined. His ability to capture drums is second to none, and we were over the moon with the vocal mixes and treatment. Aside from the great product and great experience, Jay has helped us grow in finding our sound and voice as artists. We keep going back to him for mix and capture for good reason!"

"Jay is one of the most professional members of music recording community that I have ever had the opportunity to work with and collaborate with. He is thorough, on time (or likely early), easy to work with, talented, and brings a new and awesome direction to everything he touches. Balancing the line of helping a project take shape while also allowing the artist complete creativity is one of his strengths. He has mixed multiple projects for me and has engineered in both studio and live situations. Couldn't be more please on how things have turned out. Would highly, highly recommend!"

"I love Greenbriar Studio! Jay Arrington is not only an incredibly talented producer, engineer, and musician, but over our time working together he’s become a good friend. I knew from my first conversation with Jay that he was going to pour his heart and creativity into the songs to make something that was better than I could have imagined. I’ve worked on two projects with Jay now and each time I have so looked forward to being in his studio to create. Not only does he bring out the best in the music, but he cultivates an environment where the process is tons of fun. I would highly recommend Jay for producing, mixing, mastering, or tracking parts (he played many of the instruments on our EP). Can’t wait to work with Greenbriar Studio again in the future!"

"Jay is the best, seriously the best to work with. He loves what he does and is phenomenal at it. I've worked with him several times, and will continue to. My experience has always been top notch. He is the most genuine and kind person which makes it fun to work with as well, which can't be understated. He puts in the time, patience and creativity for each project I've produced with him. It's not just a job for him, it's a clearly a passion. And to top that all off, the results he produces are the best in the business. No doubt. If you're looking for a song to be mixed, or started from the ground up, this is the place to go."

"As a young female musician, going into the studio can be intimidating. When I first recorded with Jay I was a 16 year old girl, finding comfort from the safety of her room... writing songs on my guitar. Being in the studio felt a lot like sitting in my room. Safe, great creative energy. Never once did I feel like a 16 year old girl working with Jay. I felt like a musician who was being heard. I’ve lived in Nashville for over 5 years now. I’ve recorded in some of the most historic studios and worked with some of the most noted producers and studio engineers. My experience with Jay at Greenbriar Studio is still one my favorites. As a vocalist, the language your producer/engineer uses can severely impact your delivery/performance. Jay is one of the only people I’ve worked with where the message “you’re flat” was delivered in a way that it didn’t hurt my ego, and pushed me to sing it better. It’s been a while but I am still so thankful for the music that came out of Greenbriar. I would recommend working with Jay to any musician on any level. Do yourself a favor and take your business to Greenbriar. If Jay touches it, it’s bound to sound like magic.."

"...Jay is such a down to earth guy who just happens to be one of the most talented people you will meet. He is not only a great sound engineer (which would be enough), but he is also an incredible musician. He helped creatively with so many facets of the song I was recording, including writing parts on piano and cello that simply took the song to a higher level than I thought it could go. The studio itself is warm and inviting and the perfect atmosphere for creativity to thrive. Trust me, once you get in there and start working you will not want to leave. I've told a lot of friends and musicians about Greenbriar. If you are looking for a top-notch studio and a sound engineer that knows how to run it, do yourself a favor and check it out. You will enjoy the process and you'll love the end result."

"Working with Jay at Greenbriar Studio was such a fun experience. Everything was done very professionally and with an outstanding attitude. If I needed ideas for a certain part of a song, Jay was ready to give creative input and he was also supportive of the things that I was passionate about keeping a certain way. The fact that Jay can step in with so much musical education and talent is both extremely helpful and impressive. I deeply appreciate the light-hearted, fun atmosphere mixed with the incredible diligence that was put into our project by Greenbriar Studio and I would recommend them to anyone."

"I've worked with Jay at Greenbriar Studio many times now, and have never been disappointed. He is always very patient and thorough with his work, and his final products on my songs have always been great. If you are struggling figuring out how you want your song to sound, Jay can give you great suggestions, but also always makes sure the song sounds how you want it to. As someone who has recorded in Nashville, I can honestly say the quality I get at Greenbriar Studio is just as good if not better than Nashville recordings..."
-Greyson Turner
"...Jay immediately made me feel comfortable and his professionalism calmed my nerves and put me at ease. He is certainly great at all the technical aspects of recording, but he is also very musically gifted. Jay ended up playing a few different instruments, which added a whole new dimension to my song. His cello was my favorite! Altogether, my first recording experience was phenomenal, and I highly recommend Jay! I look forward to working on another project with Jay again soon."
-Priscilla Hennecy
"Working with Jay at Greenbriar Studio was the smoothest recording process EVER. Since Jay is a trained musician himself, there was no second-guessing his understanding of what we wanted and needed. He also has a great ability to give you producer's advice as well if you want it! With other studio engineers in the past that I had experienced there were screwy edits, added nonsense, and misunderstood end goals. Not with Jay! He took our vision and put it in audio format in such a way that I didn't have to feel like I was settling, but that I was getting top-of-the-line quality from pre to post. It was a finished product I was proud to show others. I highly recommend Jay and Greenbriar Studio!"

"...Jay does a fantastic job balancing the necessary levels of patience, and persistence that are required to bring out your best while recording... He has a vast understanding of music theory which came in particularly handy anytime I needed a second set of ears while working through sections with poly-rhythms or more commonly a variety of triplet patterns that may not line up exactly in a computer program--something I've had issues with in the past working in many other studios. He also knows how to get you sounding like the bands you want to sound like, he knows what to tweak to get your tones and timbres where you want them without having to waste your valuable studio time guessing and experimenting, and he has a great ear for pitch which again will save time and ultimately make for a better final product. I couldn't recommend Jay any more, and I hope to work with him for many years to come."
